Biography
Hi, I’m Scott Nielsen.
I started Nielsen Advisors to focus specifically on helping organizations create value from their investment in their people. Too often I would hear the phrase “our people are our most valuable asset” and then the next thing that would happen is training budgets would be cut, or performance management would get minimal effort because of business demands, or lay-offs would occur because good planning didn’t.
From my work, I am convinced you can design, plan, predict, and measure the value of employee productivity and how to improve it in your organization — in other words, you can build a struggling workforce into a winning organization, and do it faster than traditional methods have shown.
I have worked internally with large and small organizations within the Fortune 100 companies of Shell Oil Company, Compaq Computer Corporation, and Hewlett-Packard as an internal consultant in Human Resources for almost 2 decades. For the last few years, I have focused on small- and medium-sized organizations.
I graduated from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University, am certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resources Certification Institute, and a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
I currently live in the beautiful bluegrass region of central Kentucky with my wife and four children.
